Gavin Webb Accident, Milford Delaware: 20-Year-Old Dies Following Fatal Motorcycle Crash on North DuPont Boulevard
The Milford, Delaware, community is mourning the loss of 20-year-old Gavin Webb, who died after sustaining critical injuries in a motorcycle crash on North DuPont Boulevard in the early morning hours of July 31, 2026.
According to investigators, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 1:15 a.m. near the intersection of North DuPont Boulevard and North Walnut Street. Delaware State Police and Milford Police responded to the scene following reports of a serious two-vehicle crash.
Authorities said Webb was riding a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on North DuPont Boulevard as he approached the intersection. Investigators determined that the motorcycle failed to stop at a traffic signal before colliding with a gray GMC Acadia SUV that was turning left onto North DuPont Boulevard from Warner Road.
The impact was severe. Webb was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision, while the GMC Acadia continued from the impact and struck a fire hydrant and a utility pole. The SUV sustained disabling damage in the crash.
Officers and troopers arriving at the scene immediately began lifesaving measures on Webb. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where medical personnel continued treating his injuries.
Despite those efforts, investigators were later notified that Webb had succumbed to his injuries. His death transformed what had initially been reported as a serious crash into a fatal tragedy for his family and the Milford community.
The driver of the GMC Acadia, a 17-year-old male, was reportedly not injured in the collision. Authorities have not indicated that the teenager suffered physical injuries as a result of the crash.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision. Investigators are examining the events leading up to the crash, including the traffic signal, movements of both vehicles and other available evidence from the scene.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that could assist investigators is being encouraged to contact Cpl. G. Smith at 302-422-8081. Information can also be provided anonymously through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
For Webb’s loved ones, his death represents a heartbreaking loss. At just 20 years old, he had his future ahead of him when the early-morning collision abruptly changed the lives of everyone who knew him.
Community members have begun remembering Webb following news of his passing. A local community post described him as a young man whose death had deeply affected those around him, while a gathering was announced in his memory.
Fatal motorcycle crashes can have devastating consequences because riders have considerably less physical protection than occupants of enclosed vehicles. The collision on North DuPont Boulevard highlights how quickly a traffic incident can become life-threatening.
As investigators continue their work, additional details may emerge regarding the circumstances that led to the collision and the events immediately before the crash.
For now, family, friends and members of the Milford community are left to mourn a young life that ended far too soon.
